Osasuna – Sevilla
Osasuna hosts Sevilla at the Estadio El Sadar in a game from the 16th round of La Liga.
For a newcomer Osasuna are doing pretty well in La Liga so far. The club from Pamplona is 9th in the standings with 22 points and a record of 5 wins, 7 draws and 3 losses. They are currently on a healthy distance from the relegation zone, so Osasuna are pretty relaxed right now. But they can’t stay relaxed, because in such leagues things are changing very quickly.
In the previous round Osasuna enjoyed their 5th win for the campaign. Arrasate’s boys travelled to Barcelona and faced Espanyol, beating Los Perricos with 4-2. Ruben Garcia, Ezequiel Avila, Moncayola and Roberto Torres from a penalty kick scored for the visitors. It was a classy performance by Osasuna, but Espanyol are a team with some serious problems at the moment, too.
Sevilla on the other hand are third in the league with 30 points, being just one point behind Barcelona and Real Madrid. But with a game more than them, too. Right now Los Rojiblancos are in a run of three consecutive wins in La Liga, so at El Sadar they will try to make it four in a row.
In the previous round Julen Lopetegui’s team hosted Leganes at the Sanchez Pizjuan and achieved a difficult 1-0 win. They had to wait 63 minutes before Diego Carlos opened the score for Sevilla. Until the end the hosts defended well and kept their thin lead.
In conclusion we can say that even if Sevilla are favourites against Osasuna, that’s going to be difficult for them at El Sadar. Despite of being a newcomer, Osasuna are doing pretty well in the league so far and this is something which deserves respect. It’d be interesting to see if Sevilla can win this one or not.
