Netherlands – Czech Republic
The Netherlands faces the Czech Republic at the Puskas Arena in Budapest in a match from the 1/8-finals of the Euro 2020. We expect some great action here, so let’s preview in these few paragraphs.
Oranje can be happy with their performance in the group stage. Frank de Boer’s team achieved three wins in three matches played and topped Group C easily ahead of Austria. In two of these three games the Netherlands didn’t concede a goal, too. Although this Dutch team started with a little bit shaky performance against Ukraine in the first game, Oranje increased the tempo in the next two matches.
In their third game in the group De Boer’s boys faced North Macedonia in Amsterdam and achieved a spectacular 3-0 win. Gini Wijnaldum showed his goalscoring instinct and scored twice for Oranje while Barcelona’s new signing Memphis Depay added one for his team. Depay made an assist for one of Wijnaldum’s goals as well. The Netherlands had fun in this game and they will hope to continue like this.
The Czech Republic reached the 1/8-finals of the European Championship with a record of one win, one draw and one loss. They finished third in Group D, but these four points were enough for them to progress. And that’s the most important thing in this case.
The Czech Republic’s only defeat in this group came against England at the Wembley. The Three Lions scored an early opener with a goal from Raheem Sterling. Until the end of the match the Czech team tried its best to recover, but no other goals in the game were scored.
The striker Patrick Schick is one of the stars in this Czech team. The Bayer Leverkusen star have scored three goals in the competition so far.
That’s our preview for the Euro 2020 1/8-finals game between the Netherlands and the Czech Republic. A fourth consecutive win for the Dutch side or maybe we will see a surprise here?
