Italy Seria A – Fiorentina-Sassuolo

FIorentina hosts Sassuolo in a game from the 15th round of the Italian Serie A.

Fiorentina are not performing at their best this season. La Viola are 12th in the Serie A standings, which is not what they hoped before the beginning of the campaign. They have 18 points won so far and a record of five wins, three draws and six losses.

The home team is currently in a run of four consecutive matches without a win. For the last time they have won against Torino at home. After this Fiorentina lost twice and made two consecutive draws with SPAL and Lazio. Now they will try to get back on the winning ways against Sassuolo at home.

Sassuolo are 16th in the Serie A standings with 11 points won. They have a record of three wins, two draws and nine losses. In their last five games they suffered four defeats and won just once – against Benevento. This win is the reason why they are currently not in the relegation zone of the Serie A.

The young Bulgarian defender Petko Hristov is not avaliable for selection for Fiorentina. Hristov is recovering from a muscle injury.

Meanwhile Sassuolo are without the injured Timo Letschert, while Claud Adjapong, Alfred Duncan, Davide Frattesi and Cristian Dell’Orco are all doubtful for the tough visit to Florence on Sunday.

Fiorentina are the obvious favourite here. Their potential is bigger than what they are showing right now. They are not one of the top teams in the league, but they are good enough to be in the Top 10 of the Serie A. And they shall return there, if they manage to find some more consistency in their performances.

As for Sassuolo, their main goal this season is survival. And they are going to need every point they can win.
