Inter Milan – Cagliari
Inter Milan hosts Cagliari at the Stadio San Siro in a 1/8-final game from the Coppa Italia. Let’s take a look at this fixutre in the city of Milan on Tuesday.
Inter Milan are not approaching this game in the best mood possible after their dissapointing 1-1 draw at home against Atalanta on Saturday. This draw could cost the Nerazzurri the first place in the standings, which would happen if Juventus record a win against Roma at the Olimpico on Sunday. Clearly this draw was not a part of Antonio Conte’s plans.
Lautaro Martinez opened the score for Inter with an early goal, but in the 75th minute Robin Gosens equalised for Atalanta, silencing the San Siro stands.
Now Inter Milan must switch their mind to another challenge, because on Tuesday they will have the chance to progress towards the Coppa Italia 1/4-finals. This competition is not a priority for the club, so Antonio Conte shall make some rotations in his starting eleven. We expect to see players like Borja Valero, Matteo Politano, Alexis Sanchez, Mattias Vecino and Andrea Ranocchia on the pitch.
Cagliari are an interesting case because they started the season in a brilliant way, but now they are in a pretty bad shape. The Rossoblu are in a run of four consecutive losses in the Serie A, which speaks of some serious trouble in their dressing room at the moment.
On Saturday Cagliari hosted Milan at the Sardegna Arena, but once again didn’t show good football and suffered a 0-2 defeat. At this moment nothing which the manager Rolando Maran is trying is working.
In conclusion we can say that we expect Inter Milan to eliminate Cagliari for the Coppa Italia, even if the manager Antonio Conte decides to make some rotations in the line-up. Cagliari are not in a good shape right now and it’s going to be difficult for them at the San Siro.
