Hellas Verona – Inter Milan

Hellas Verona are about to finish a successful Serie A season for the club. At this point they are 8th in the league’s standings with 42 points, which is more than good for the club. Most of us expected that Verona will fight for survival during the campaign, but this team proved to be better than that.

In their last game Hellas Verona conceded their 10th defeat, though. Ivan Juric’ team paid a visit to the struggling Brescia, but suffered a 0-2 loss at the Mario Rigamonti. This match didn’t go well for Verona, despite Brescia being at the bottom of the league.

Inter Milan will make an effort to bounce back after their shocking 1-2 defeat from Genoa at the San Siro in the previous round. This was Inter’s just 4th defeat for the season and nobody really expected it. Romelu Lukaku put the Nerazzurri ahead, but in the second half Juwara and Musa Barrow secured a surprising win for the Grifoni. Genoa also played with 10 men on the pitch because of Roberto Soriano’s red card in the 57th minute.

Inter’s manager Antonio Conte admitted after the match that his players underrestimated Genoa and he was not happy about it. Conte is not a coach who will his players do this again, so we really expect some kind of a response from the Nerazzurri on Thursday.

In our preview we believe that Inter Milan will give their all after the surprising defeat by the hands of Genoa. Hellas Verona are not an easy obstacle, though. The hosts know how to fight for the points, so we believe it’s going to be very competitive at the Marc’Antonio Bentegodi.
