France – Albania
The world champions France will aim to hold the top in Group H when hosting Albania at the Stade de France in an European qualification on Saturday. The situation in this group is really interesting, so let’s take a look.
Group H promises to be one of the most interesting groups during this campaign. Three teams in this group are topping it with the same amount of points – France, Turkey and Iceland. From this moment until the end of the campaign, everything could happen. France remain the big favourite, of course, but Les Bleus’ defeat against Turkey in Istanbul proved that every team could be beaten.
France needed to react after the defeat in Istanbul and they did it during the visit to Andorra, scoring four times. The superstar Kylian Mbappe scored his 13th goal for the national team, while Wissam Ben Yedder, Florian Thauvin and Kurt Zouma also record their names on the scoresheet. France’s win against Andorra was nothing surprising, so Deschamps’ boys made a pretty basic preparation for their next game.
Albania are doing pretty decent in this group so far, being 4th in the standings with 6th points. Of course, it’d be pretty naive to think that they could challenge with the three leaders in the group, but against Andorra and Moldova they proved to be “the best from the rest” in this group.
In their previous game in this group the Albanians achieved a 2-0 win at home against Moldova. Managed by the experienced Italian tactician Edoardo Reja, the hosts took the three points with goals from Sokol Cikalleshi and Ylber Ramadani after the halftime break. But how you can suppose, it’s going to be a very different experience for Albania against France in Paris.
That’s our quick preview for the European qualification between France and Albania on Saturday. It’s a must-win for Les Bleus and we don’t doubt that they are going to take what’s theirs.
