Croatia – Czech Republic
It’s time for another clash from Group D of the Euro 2020 because Croatia will face the Czech Republic on Friday. Our task here is to give a solid preview for this match at the Hampden Park in Glasgow.
The World Cup finalists Croatia didn’t have a dream start of the European Championship. The Blazers had the tough task to face England in their first game, but it didn’t go according to the plan because the Three Lions achieved a 1-0 win at the Wembley. Raheem Sterling scored the only goal in the game in the second half.
Croatia’s manager Zlatko Dalic could be making some changes in his line-up for the next game. Bruno Petkovic and Mario Pasalic are among the options to refresh the line-up while Josip Brekalo is another interesting player who can be included. All three of them entered the pitch against England as substitutions, but they were unable to help. Meanwhile veterans like Luka Modric, Ivan Perisic and Domagoj Vida look untouchable in the starting eleven.
The Czech Republic on the other hand are leading the group after their comfortable 2-0 win over Scotland in the first round. Jaroslav Silhavy’s team took the three points against the Tartan Army with two goals scored by Patrick Schick. The second that Schick scored was a true masterpiece and probably the goal of the tournament.
Silhavy don’t need to make a lot of changes in his line-up or even any. His 4-2-3-1 formation worked well against Scotland – the team scored twice and kept a clean sheet. If he decides to refresh the line-up though, Silhavy could use players such as Matej Vydra or Tomas Holes.
That’s the preview of the Euro 2020 fixture between Croatia and the Czech Republic in Glasgow on Friday. The Blazers are looking for first points in the competition, but their opponent is the current leader.
