Barcelona – Real Sociedad

The champion Barcelona hosts Real Sociedad in a match from the last 38th round of the Spanish La Liga. The game is going to be played on Sunday night at the Estadio Camp Nou in the Catalan capital.

Barca won the title in a dominant fashion. Ernesto Valverde’s team suffered just one defeat in 37 games – against Levante in the previous round. They really wanted to finish the campaign unbeaten, but sadly for them, it didn’t happen. Now they will try to finish the season with a win.

Right now Barca have 90 points and a record of 27 wins, 9 draws and 1 loss. In their last five games the Los Cules won twice, made two draws and suffered one defeat – the one against Levante we told you about. In this game Barcelona conceded 5 goals, which is telling us that their defense was not functioning in the best way possible.

Real Sociedad had a mediocre season. La Real are currently 10th in the league standings, which is worse than their performance last season, when they qualified for Europa League. On theory Real Sociedad could overtake Eibar at 9th place, but it won’t make much of a difference for them.

La Real have a record of 14 wins, 7 draws and 16 defeats from the start of the season. In their last five games the Basques won three times and suffered two defeats.

This game is going to be all about Andres Iniesta. The legendary captain of Barca is leaving the club at the end of the season, so this is going to be his last match for Barcelona. The midfielder will say his goodbye to the fans and you can be sure that they will applaud him in the way he deserves.
