Atletico Madrid – Levante

La Liga leaders Atletico Madrid host Levante at the Wanda Metropolitano in a match from the 24th round of the competition.

Atletico Madrid remain leaders in the Spanish league, but Cholo Simeone’s team lost points in two of their last three matches in La Liga. Their latest mistake came on Wednesday when Los Colchoneros won only point against Levante again in Valencia. The game ended with a 1-1 draw. Marcos Llorente scored in the first half, but Levante fought well and got a point against the leaders.

Diego Simeone started Joao Felix from the bench against Levante, but most likely the Portuguese star will return in the line-up on Saturday. Geoffrey Kondogbia is an option in midfield while Vitolo could also start from the first minute. Simeone has some options if he wants to do some rotations.

With this draw on Wednesday Levante now have 28 points, but they remain 11th in the league standings. In their last five matches in La Liga Levante won just once – against Real Madrid at the Estadio Alfredo Di Stefano, which was a huge win, of course.

We don’t expect to see the manager Paco Lopez doing a lot of changes on Saturday. Most likely the manager will try to repeat the formula which brought him a point against La Liga leaders. Bardhi and Roger Marti should start in attack while Morales, Malsa, Radoja and Jorge de Frutos could keep their place in the midfield line. Like they say – if something is working, just don’t touch it.

That’s our preview for La Liga game between Atletico Madrid and Levante in the Spanish capital. These teams already met on Wednesday and they shared the points. Now things could be different because Atletico are aware how important is for them to win this one. They can’t allow themselves to keep losing points in the title race.
